Where: 3 Avenida 5-26, Cdad. de Guatemala, Guatemala
What: In August 2026, Dreamkick World Mission traveled to Guatemala for our second mission trip, where we had the opportunity to visit two schools, Villa de las Niñas and Villa de los Niños. During our time there, we hosted interactive Taekwondo workshops for the students, introducing them to different aspects of the martial art and creating opportunities for them to learn, participate, and have fun. We demonstrated poomsae, sparring, and self-defense techniques while also teaching students about the discipline, perseverance, respect, and confidence that Taekwondo can develop. As part of our mission, we donated 250 T-shirts and Taekwondo belts to students at the schools. These donations allowed us to share equipment and resources that could help encourage students to continue participating in Taekwondo and physical activity. Beyond teaching martial arts, our trip focused on building meaningful cross-cultural connections. We had the opportunity to interact with students from different backgrounds, learn from their experiences, and share our own passion for Taekwondo. This mission trip was more than simply hosting workshops or donating supplies. It allowed Dreamkick World Mission to use Taekwondo as a way to bring people together, promote physical activity, and create connections across cultures. Through our time in Guatemala, we hope to continue demonstrating how martial arts can empower young people while creating a lasting sense of community and friendship.
